P.A. Fisker, the man who established Nilfisk-Advance, was an electrical engineer who loved working with electrical motors. Founding the company in 1906, he started to produce motors in order to drive coffee grinders, drills, fans and machine tools. Mr. Fisker's vision from the beginning was to own a worldwide business marketing merchandise internationally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a remarkable breakthrough for the cleaning business. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed only 17.5 kilos and could be operated by a single person. This invention came in a time where other cleaning machines were very big and needed at least 4 operators, thus, the Nilfisk C1 transformed everything and evolved the manner we clean forever. The genius behind these first cleaning equipment remains unparalleled. Cleaning machines provide an excellent solution to an existing problem; stuff get dirty and have to be cleaned frequently, without a lot of effort.

Little by little, the company Nilfisk-Advance expanded through the years. In the early 1980's the company expanded fast when the business became a part of the NKT Group. With new owners on board, they concentrated on driving Nilfisk-Advance ahead within the industry, trying to be an active worldwide player in manufacturing professional cleaning equipment. Nilfisk-Advance is now found in every part of the globe due to gradually acquiring many smaller businesses to be able to grow their product range and presence in new markets.
